FEMININITY.
This quarantine has definitely made me evaluate things. I have been thinking heavily about femininity.
Is it a lost art? Has the world demanded so much from woman these days that had us cost our feminine side? Is showcasing your feminine side just a waste of time? Is being feminine something that needs to be learned again amongst woman now?
I had a lot of questions. I have for the most part of my life denied my femininity. Yes, I can rock it. Yes, I can play along via social media, but being feminine isn't just a look, it is a feeling, it is a way of life. It is accepting that before we are anything, or anyone to someone---we have a primal side to us---femininity.
It is not just getting your nails, lashes, and facials done----it is way more than that. After doing some research, I realized that even though woman are making their own money and are very independent----some of us have somehow lost the art of being feminine. Some of us might be leading with our masculine sides in EVERY area of our lives. I happen to be one of those woman. I came across this youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSxIePl7-kk) somethings she talks about are interesting. In one video, this woman said that due to her working on her feminine energy, she was able to change the way she interacted with the world. It meant embracing her softness, light, feminine energy---and off setting her go-getter, fuck everyone, masculine energy---she was surprised how much it made her REAL.
Her vulnerabilities, feelings, beauty (flaws & all) and softness seem to soothe all the long days of hard work being masculine, and feeling misunderstood, yet powerful. She was also able to lose the need to control things, and allowed the universe to surprise her. Flowing with her feminine energy was refreshing to her. THe masculine energy is great when getting things done and reaching for higher goals. However, it can be very heavy when it comes to dealing with life setbacks, love, uncertain times and letting your guard down a little. The one thing that really hit me hard about femininity was that letting the bagage go can be very refreshing....
At times, being masculine means keeping your guard up, working hard, not showing your feelings, being practical---but, that's great at work. However, being a woman is primal to us. Biologically, we have feelings that at times can be uncontrollable, moments that can truly break us down, and times, where we are so vulnerable, it hurts. Embracing our feminine sides can allow us to accept those things as part of being who we are, and how we are designed.
Yes, I know times have changed---This is for the woman who maybe lost their way in the masculine energy world---because, let's face it...IT feels very good feeling powerful, getting shit done, being bosy, and demanding things be the way you want it to be. It is a total---ego boost party....I fucking get it.....
Let's try, though to remember what makes us love our feminine ways.
