Cre8tive Mojo talks lil bro's wedding! part 1

I want to first and foremost say that my lil bro Bicky had a big fat Indian wedding! 7 days of fun---5 days of events! It was the first wedding in our immediate family and it was huge, spectacular and beautiful. I couldn't even have imagined it to be as amazing as it turned out. I saw my lil bro on a horse, in many elaborate outfit changes, and use the same dance moves for 3 days straight. This wedding was after 2 funerals in our extended family so it was bittersweet to come together for a happy function full of dancing, food and fun after the loss of 2 older uncles.

I haven't spent this much time with my extended family in awhile--- It was a lot of fun, full of inside jokes and just family trolling and dancing. I must admit this was a very sentimental event for our family! I was having more anxiety than my lil bro with all the events. My noncommittal self kept having anxiety till the point where I got so sick the day before the lady sangeet from over partying and anxiety. I was in my bed sleeping, on pain killers. I slept in, because I wasn't missing this.

My lil bro is a trailblazer in a sense, not many people tell you that once you are in your 30's, committing feels heavier and scarier---like some fantasy that suckers buy into. I lived through my parents crazy arranged marriage, seeing my lil bro take the plunge first was giving me severe anxiety. No matter what I felt, my brother was getting married and I had to keep my anxiety at bay to be as supportive as I could be during his wedding time. The other half of me was very excited to be part of all the festivities! I wanted to be in the moment, take as less pictures as possible so I can completely be there!

After being completely shot up with painkillers and coconut water, I handed my puppy Mariah off to my very kind neighbor who watched her for 4 days and fed my cats. I took the train home to be greeted with tons of relatives and started to get the home ready. Not shocking, but my family was all grumpy because we had literally waited till last minute to get everything together---and things were falling apart --like our original tent---in the most heavy rainfall. We had to last minute get up three tents using team work like I was in the military, get the food, the warmers, liquor, everything--you name it---we pulled it off and it came together last minute.. My other bro Hardeep was our proud runner who would at any moment run to the store or bank to pick up money or liquor---lets just say I can tell why he is a great emergency doctor because he def killed it last minute! And my lil bro Bicky was helping out everywhere cleaning even though it was HIS wedding! Seeing my lil bro being involved in every detail--made me realize even though he will begin his own family by getting married, he was VERY much still part of our family!---at any moment he would clean the downstairs, then he put on his fancy wedding attire to entertain the family---HE DID IT ALL! and with a smile-- it was very impressive!

Meanwhile, I put together the fun finishing touches with my selfie wedding props,, and origami star decorations, the colorful hanging tassels I got from india! my mom, equally freaking out, was upstairs getting all the tradition stuff ready and my dad was running helping us set up the tents and tables for the party. IT was the HOUSE OF MARRIAGE for 7 days! All my anxiety dissolved in wedding prep.....yet, 1 hour before guest were arriving we were still getting the house ready! RING-RING-RING---! The guests were arriving and the lady's sangeet was about to start....yet, I didn't even take a shower. HELP! The beautiful chaos took over the home, I ran downstairs, took my green suit, taking the quickest shower EVER!

people showing up to our house---and I must admit my backyard jersey city hieights party days were coming in handy---There is NOTHING like a great house party!!! In my hosting days, I had one rule, and one rule ONLY, a good host knows HOW to make all the introductions and then mysteriously disappear AT THE RIGHT MOMENT. but an amazing host, KNOWS how to surprise their guests! My brother's wedding was full of little surprises and I loved it! TO BE CONTINUED
