There is nothing like a grandma. They spoil you, and love you for who you are. My grandma passed away 1 year ago. I never got time to spend with her as much as I liked. She was my only grandma left. My dad's mom, died years ago which left our Big fat Punjabi family in dismay. Somehow, through her quiet strength she was able to bring everyone together. She always like to surprise you with a gift, something she knitted or Punjabi trail mix. She was extremely spiritual. It wasn't until NOW did I realize the spiritual gifts that were passed down to me from her.
My other grandma, who recently passed away (mom's mom), was complete SASS. She could maneuver her way out of ANYTHING. I would say I got my SASS & POLITICAL SKILLS from her. The spiritual gift I think she passed down to me was being a FREE SPIRIT.
Most people do not get me, so I rather not explain myself. Recently, my dog Mariah staying at her grandma's home, while I get some much needed reset. The thing is grandmas can see things from a wiser perspective. They have lived, and so, they know. I had to grow up fast, but whenever I was around my grandmas I always felt like my inner child woke up---and for a brief moment I could be a kid, let my guards down. I love my grandmas for that. As silly as it sounds, I want my Dog Mariah to feel a grandmas love. To be spoiled and loved, yet allowed to be the 1 year old crazy dog she is. I miss that feeling of being a grandkid. I loved my grandmas for just being unapologetically themselves and loving us they way they did. Rest In peace, grandmas.
love,
